Australian Rock Company Ltd is the oldest not-for-profit cultural organisation in the contemporary Australian Music Industry. The Company’s primary aim is to promote original, live ‘general access’ performances in isolated, under-catered and financially uncertain urban and regional areas. That’s our mission. That’s what we do.
From just an idea, after decades of working in the Australian Music Industry, and understanding the logistical problems of delivering performances, nationally, a small group of dedicated individuals held ARC’s 1st meeting, in an art studio and silk screen printing air jordan 2 cement grey warehouse, in Surry Hills, in 1981. The idea – to set up a public fund to support the Industry to present live performances, in difficult circumstances. Australian Rock Company was born – a vessel for the contemporary music industry, emulating Australian Opera, Theatre, Ballet and Dance Companies.
ARC was Incorporated as the first not-for-profit public company in the Australian Music Industry, (2.2.1984); registered as a charity and tax deductible gift recipient (28.10.1987); and now stars on the Commonwealth Government’s Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO).
This site, and its sister AustraliaLive.org, aim to encourage communication between bands, fans and local promoters to run live shows, with original acts, in family friendly, child safe venues, across the country.
